NFP Acquires Total Benefits Advisors to Expand Wealth and Benefits Business in Northeast Ohio

NFP, an Aon company, has acquired Total Benefits Advisors, a Cleveland-based retirement services, employee benefits and wealth management firm, strengthening its presence in Northeast Ohio and expanding its advisory capabilities for employers, business owners and high-net-worth individuals. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition adds a well-established advisory practice to NFP's national platform, supporting the company's strategy of growing through targeted acquisitions that enhance regional market coverage and broaden client service capabilities. The transaction also expands NFP's wealth management and retirement advisory business in the greater Cleveland market.

As part of the acquisition, Total Benefits Advisors owner and advisor Mark Breen will join NFP as vice president, reporting to Steve Jans, NFP's Wealth Management national practice leader. Founded in 2009, Total Benefits Advisors provides integrated retirement services, employee benefits consulting and wealth management solutions to employers, business owners and individual clients throughout the Cleveland area. The firm's approach combines workplace benefits planning with personal financial advisory services, allowing clients to coordinate business and individual financial strategies through a single advisory relationship. "We're excited to welcome Mark and the Total Benefits Advisors team to NFP as we grow our presence in the greater Cleveland market," said Jans.

"Total Benefits Advisors has built a strong reputation for delivering integrated benefits and wealth management solutions. By combining their local expertise with NFP's resources, we're well positioned to deliver even greater value to clients in the region." The acquisition expands NFP's footprint in a market supported by a diverse base of middle-market businesses and private wealth clients. By integrating Total Benefits Advisors into its broader platform, NFP expects to provide clients with access to additional resources, specialized expertise and a wider range of advisory services while maintaining the firm's relationship-driven approach. Breen said the transaction enables the firm to preserve its client-focused service model while benefiting from the scale and capabilities of a national organization.

"We're thrilled to join NFP and a team that shares our client-first mindset and commitment to personalized service," Breen said. "Our cultures are strongly aligned, and this combination allows us to maintain the relationships our clients value while enhancing what we can deliver, backed by NFP's national platform, specialized expertise and expanded resources." For NFP, the acquisition reinforces its strategy of building integrated advisory practices that combine employee benefits, retirement planning and wealth management under a unified platform. The company continues to invest in markets where it sees opportunities to deepen client relationships by offering comprehensive solutions across both human capital and financial planning needs. NFP, an Aon company, provides property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, life insurance, executive benefits, wealth management and retirement plan advisory services to businesses and individuals across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The addition of Total Benefits Advisors further strengthens the firm's capabilities in Northeast Ohio while expanding its network of advisors serving employers and high-net-worth clients.
