Dermatologists Introduce Agnes and Double Tight for Skin Lifting
Double Tight targets dual dermis layers; Agnes stimulates SMAS for lifting effects The recent trend in dermatological treatments is shifting beyond "anti-aging," which focuses on preventing aging in advance, to a trend where people in their 20s are beginning to seek skin care. Dr. Lee Hak-gyu, director of Root Theme Dermatology (a dermatologist), appeared on the Chosun Ilbo's medical and health YouTube channel *Oh! Health*, , to explain the causes of skin aging and the latest lifting treatments gaining attention: *Agnes* and *Double Tight*.
Dr. Lee explained, "Skin aging occurs when collagen and elastin in the dermis decrease, and fat in the cheeks sags, leading to nasolabial folds or bulldog faces. The core target of lifting is the 'SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System) layer.'" The SMAS layer is a membranous tissue spread widely across the body, and existing lifting lasers like Ulthera and Thermage stimulate this area to produce lifting effects. Recently, dermatology clinics have also recommended *Double Tight*, a new treatment in this field.
Dr. Lee said, "Until recently, dermatological treatments mainly targeted the lower dermis, but the upper dermis (papillary dermis) is also crucial for anti-aging and whitening. *Double Tight* is characterized by using two types of needles of different lengths simultaneously to treat both the upper and lower dermis." As daily anti-aging methods, Dr. Lee recommended using retinol (vitamin A) and vitamin C cosmetics, thorough moisturizing, and sun protection.
He added, "Using water that is too hot during cleansing can damage the skin barrier, while water that is too cold makes it difficult to remove waste. Lukewarm water is best." Scanning the QR code printed on the page with a smartphone allows viewers to watch the skin lifting episode.
