Games have revealed the Batcave featured in the upcoming Batman game "LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight" in a new video. Players will be able to store their suits and vehicles and build new living spaces in the Batcave to personalise it their way. Here is how the Batcave will prove useful to the players.
According to the developers, the Batcave will evolve as players rediscover how Bruce Wayne started out as Batman and rose through the challenges to become a wise Dark Knight of Gotham City. The Batcave in the upcoming Lego Batman game begins in Alfred Pennyworth's old storage unit. Through excavation, Bruce will clear out a bigger space to set his command centre. In the construction of the Batcave, he will have support from his allies, like Lucius Fox, who will help transform and enhance it with his tech knowledge.
The Batcave in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight already comes furnished with a science lab, training centre, and garage and can be customised further. According to the developers, a few examples of new spaces that can be built inside the Batcave are a library, a "space-age command center" and even an American diner. Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight players can use the studs collected in their playthroughs to get items and props to personalise their Batcaves. As the game's story progresses, the art found in Gotham will be preserved as a collection on the digital screens inside the Batcave.
Matthew Wood, Lead Designer at TT Games, said in a PlayStation Blog post: "As Batman moves through the eras, your collection of digital screens grows, displaying art found around Gotham City throughout the course of the story. Like some awesome Black Canary Tour posters from inside the Iceberg Lounge." The suit vault in the Batcave will have wall-to-wall Batsuits, so that players can browse through them first before equipping them. You can park the various Batmobiles and Batcycles in the dedicated garage. The Batcave will also have Batman's various trophies in LEGO brick form.
These include "the mechanical T-Rex, a giant playing card of The Joker, the famous giant U.S. penny, and a few surprise callbacks to our earlier video games," said the developers. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches May 22 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
